what to ask your wedding photographer
I’m sure you must have many questions before booking your wedding photographer, that’s why I put together this comprehensive list of most important and frequently asked questions. I hope it helps you with everything you have in mind. If there is anything you need answering that isn’t here, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Yes, all packages come with a USB, which includes images in two resolutions (low for viewing and sharing and high for printing). Of course without watermarks.
Yes, you will get both black and white and colour images. As a standard, I deliver all images in colour and a selection of these I edit in black and white. I am a big fan of black and white photos, so if you like to go for purely B&W I’ll be happy to do it.
No, I never watermark the images I deliver to clients. I just kindly ask you, if you do share them on social media, to tag me.
I guarantee to archive your wedding photographs for one year after the wedding. Please make sure to backup your images as soon as you get the USB from me. Copy the files to an external hard drive or another USB. This is the best way to avoid loosing your precious photographs.
This depends on the package you have. It’s always about the quality rather than quantity. The final number of delivered images depends on a number of factors such as the number of guests, number of locations used over the course of the day and of course time. The final amount ranges from 300 to 600 photos. For a full day wedding you can expect definitely 500 photos. More details can be found on my Wedding photography packages page.
Images are delivered through your own private online gallery for you to download and share with your friends and family. This gallery will be available for you for 6 months. You will also get your personalized USB with images in two sizes (low-resolution for viewing and sharing and high-resolution for printing).
Your images are ready within 4 weeks after your wedding. I know it takes patience, so firstly I send you sneak preview of images within 1 week after the wedding.
Under the law, it is always the photographer who owns the copyright on photos he has taken. It means, like most professional photographers, I do maintain the copyright to the images. On the other hand, you will be assigned full and unrestricted usage rights to print and distribute yourselves.
About me and how I work
Yes, I have been a full-time photographer for almost 7 years. Wedding photography is my one and only job, that’s why I can 100% focus on my business and each wedding to deliver promised/amazing results.
Yes, I am fully insured with both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Yes, I like to shoot a few romantic portraits of you two. It’s typically a nice 10-20 minutes walk, during which we create natural looking photos, without the necessity of strict posing. The best time for it is definitely right before sunset – the magical golden hour. You can see some examples in my Wedding Portraits gallery.
Of course, I do group photos. After all, it’s your wedding day and I’m here to capture all that matters to you. Group shots are particularly important for parents and relatives, it’s rare to have a gathering of all your family and friends. Although I recommend doing no more than 10 groups to minimise the time it takes, guests usually do not want to be standing around waiting.
Yes, I edit all photos you’ll get. I don’t outsource any of the work. It has taken me years to evolve my unique signature style.
Yes, I do offer an engagement photo session. It comes automatically with wedding package #1, but can be added to any other package. The engagement shoot is a great way to know each other before your wedding day, so you’ll feel much more comfortable in front of the camera. Have a look at my engagement gallery to see what kind of photos to expect. Just get in touch for more details and availability.
Yes please. Weddings are very long and I will be working with you almost all day, so I always appreciate the same meal as your guests. I never request anything special. No one likes their photos being taken when they’re eating, so that’s usually also time for me to have short break and re-fuel.
I normally wear all black – a long/short sleeve shirt (depending on weather), smart trousers and good shoes to be comfortable for such a long day.
My preference is to blend in with your guests in order to capture spontaneous moments and real emotions. I am as unobtrusive as I can be and hopefully you will forget that I’m there, so that you don’t feel as if you have to pose for the camera. My impact on the day is minimal and discreet. I look for honesty, emotion, and context.
Firstly, I have to say I have never missed a wedding or any other shoot. Not through illness or anything else, ever. But if by any chance that happens, I have a list of photographers I trust to cover me. You will not lose out on anything, nor will you incur additional costs.
I am based in London, covering all of the UK and abroad. I am happy to travel and shoot your destination wedding. So far I’ve photographed weddings in Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. I charge basic travel costs and 2 night’s accommodation when travelling for destination weddings.
